Bears are aggressive animals that can be encountered by expedition parties
Behaviour
Bears will wander around the world outside of your shelter. Bears will intermittently attack any ongoing expedition parties. Much like wolves, bears have certain abilities unique to them, such as 'Bite'. Note that bears will not negotiate, so should a party encounter bears, they will be forced into combat with them. If you successfully kill a bear or bears, they will drop meat, leather, bones, and animal fat.
Combat
As mentioned above, bears use certain unique abilities. However, as with wolves, bears are harder to deal than traditional survivors, as they are immune to the 'Dazed' debuff. As such, they cannot be subdued. Because they can't be subdued, they cannot be taken into indoctrination cells. As mentioned above, killed bears drop meat, leather, bones, and animal fat.
Variants
There are two variants of the bear: normal bears which are those that attack expedition parties, and the giant bear, a boss bear that can be fought after gaining large amounts of reputation with the CTK Mob.
Bear
Bears, as mentioned earlier, wander about the world. An expedition party has a small chance to encounter bears, but will have a higher chance when exploring in a forest or mountain area. When a bear is encountered, a message will appear saying "Expedition party has encountered an animal and is awaiting orders." Then, the expedition party will enter combat with the bear.
Giant Bear
The giant bear is a boss variant of the normal bear. It only appears in the CTK Mob's third quest. As its name implies, it is a large bear that is more powerful than the other bears, and has more powerful stats. To battle the giant bear, you must gain large amounts of reputation with the CTK Mob. After around 300 to 400 reputation, their third quest will appear. After preparing yourselves and visiting the third quest location, your party can battle the giant bear. Note that while the CTK Mob asks you to not use ranged weapons, you can still battle and defeat the giant bear by using them.
